Champagne Mumm Cordon Rouge 2006
Složení: 69 % Pinot noir, 31 % Chardonnay. Barva je jasná, žlutá s jemnými náznaky smaragdové. Bublinky stoupají v živém smyslném tanci a vytváří jemnou dlouhotrvající pěnu. Buket: otevírá se jemným aromatem čerstvých květů a kandovaného citrusového ovoce, dále se rozvíjí se silnějšími náznaky sušeného ovoce, ořechů a světlého tabáku. Tyto chutě na závěr zvýrazňuje náznak čerstvého ovoce a svěžest odrůdy Chardonnay. Šampaňské je stylové a ...

This Mumm is a little weak overall - though very Champagne; I would say that the nose should have more obvious toastiness and brioche. But this is not in evidence - although everything is in balance, there is not so much to balance; more character is needed. Not out of sorts but needing more of sorts. Enjoyable but mildly disappointing - unless one only wants only "correctness"... 88 points.
A little underwhelmed by this. Generally I love true Champagne but this was a bit weak in overall flavor.
Awesome light and crisp Champagne. Was great with the baked oysters.
This was excellent champagne. The 1999 was very crisp and light. It was amazing - much better than more expensive wines like the perrier joet.
Not your regular bubbles. An excellent talking point wine, great with savory appetizers. A bit sweet, but not sticky, with nice bubbles. Not going to go well on it's own for more than a glass or two, but great fun as part of a set.
External Reviews for Champagne Mumm Cordon Rouge
A round, fruity rose with ripe flavors of cherry and strawberry. Fresh and clean, well integrated and lively.
Golden yellow to the eye with tinges of jade green. The sparkle is gentle, elegant and sustained. On the nose there are citrus hints and rich fruit aromas of white peach and apricot. These lengthen into notes of vanilla, dried fruits and honey. On the palate, the complex fusion of fresh fruit and caramel point to the wine's inherent quality. Gentle acidity, sparkle that's ample but not overbearing and an unusually long-lasting taste are the hallmarks of a balanced finish, consistent and multi-faceted.
A most distinctive Champagne with an extra dimension that makes it stand out from the pack. It offers pungent earthy, toasty aromas that melt on the palate into opulent, creamy flavors that linger with richness on the finish.(WS)
This wine is toasty and rich, with lots of malt, butter and strawberry flavors and a fresh backbone of acidity.
Pure, delicate aromas of lime, mint and biscuits. Bright but round, with brisk flavors of apple, lemon, and minerals enlivened by fresh acidity. In a fairly dry, light style. Finishes with subtle fruitiness and very good persistence.
Toast and yeast in the otherwise lime-scented bouquet. Clean citrus and green-apple flavors lead into a zesty, smooth soda-like finish. Overall it’s just a nice, clean, bright Champagne, one that has the right level of dryness and zip.
Always a crown favorite, Cordon Rouge is a judiciously arrives at blend of 77 different crus and remains a staple NV Brut of class and bready/doughy distinction. I have admired it for two decades and look forward to doing so for two decades more.
