Champagne Montaudon Reserve Premier Mags NV
Today Montaudon is one of the rare champagne houses still owned entirely by the founding family. The house of Montaudon is located right at the heart of Reims, a few steps away from the Cathedral. The fermentation room, storerooms and two levels of cellars (where bottles for several year’s supply are stocked) are sited in this well integrated centre. Montaudon owns a vineyard of 45 hectares. The long lasting finish gives further emphasis to its perfect proportions. This Brut wine is an assemblage of the three grape varieties: mainly Pinot Noir, with Pinot Meunier and Chardonnay. It is fresh lively and elegant, and can be served on all occasions.

When first poured, the wine exhibits a rush of good, small bubbles creating a soft, true champagne-style effervescence. A nice straw-yellow color with an aroma of almonds, filberts and a touch of desiccated, toasted coconut flake. Flavors have good presence if not particularly subtle in tone. A decent, sound champagne.
A meaty champagne with flavors of dried petals and red currants. A tart finish, with more of the meaty, fleshiness. An energetic, powerful house blend.

Shocking pink-red hue. Quite fruity, with strawberry, smoke, and leather on the nose. Explosive and bold on the attack, with a medium body and a Pinot Noir earthiness that runs through the finish. Packs a lot of flavor and personality. Drink now or keep a few years.
A distinctive, memorable Champagne in a mature style, this is deep gold in color, expansively doughy, flinty and nutty in aroma and flavor and has a super-smooth texture backed by firm acidity. The finish seems to last for minutes.
A vinous style, sporting woodsy, briary accents to the concentrated cherry flavors. Full and rich, with a firm, chalk-like sensation on the finish. Drink now through 2010.
A juicy roseacute; Champagne, with subtle notes of candied black currant, cherry, candied lemon zest and a hint of fig. Lightly smoky throughout, with a mouthwatering finish. Drink now.
Plenty of mineral in the aroma, along with a tangy acidity in this dry-style roseacute;. The flavors pick up berry and spice notes as it develops on the palate. Itrsquo;s assertive, with good length. Drink now.
An extrovert. Bold, full-bodied and firmly structured, with cherry, toast and mineral notes, this roseacute; would match grilled or roasted fish well.
This elegant Champagne mixes whole-grain toast, honey and citrus flavors in a pleasing way. Firm, with a light chalky feel, yet balanced by richness and crisp on the finish. Drink now through 2013.
