A new offering from a 2.47 acre parcel of vines, the 2009 Chambrun Le Bourg, composed of 80% Merlot and 20% Cabernet Franc, includes all of its sibling's characteristics along with more aromatics, a more opaque purple color, and fuller-bodied, denser, richer fruit. It was cropped at 25 hectoliters per hectare versus the regular cuvee's 30 hectoliters per hectare. It should drink well for 10-15 years ... at a minimum. (Tasted two times.) This outstanding Lalande de Pomerol estate was recently purchased by Silvio Denz, the Swiss luxury brand creator who has done such a great job since he purchased St.-Emilion's Chateau Fargeres. Michel Rolland is the consultant.
