Chambertin Louis Jadot 2014

Winemaker's Notes:

95-97 Points, Neal Martin, Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: "The 2014 Chambertin Grand Cru has a lot of finesse and composure on the nose and to be honest, it shows the 2014 Mazis-Chambertin how it's done -- very focused and complex with great tension and energy. The palate is very well balanced with fine, supple tannin. It is beautifully focused, very natural and effortless with a lingering, minerally finish that goes on and on. This is predictably one of the standouts from Jadot this year." Issue# 222, 12/15 93-95 Points, Allen Meadows, Burghound: "Don't Miss! As is often the case this is at once aromatically cooler and more subdued but even so there is simply knockout complexity to the gorgeously spicy dark berry fruit mélange of spice, game, earth and floral elements. The imposingly-scaled and overtly powerful flavors possess first-rate concentration and even more minerality before culminating in a driving and explosively long finish. This is one of the biggest and most structured wines of the 2014 vintage and if you either can't, or won't, cellar it for at least 10 to 12 years there is really no point in acquiring it." Issue# 62, 04/16

Maison Louis Jadot is a winery that’s proud of its heritage and land. Founded in 1859 by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, Maison Jadot expanded rapidly, taking northern Europe by storm. When his son, Louis Jean Baptiste, took over in 1900, more change took place, and many vineyards were acquired, including Corton Charlemagne and Chevalier Montrachet Les Demoiselles. With the help of Rudy Kopf, founder of the Kobrand Corporation, Maison Jadot expanded even further, setting up shop in both England and the U.S. In 1985, Madame Jadot sold the company to Rudy Kopf’s family, ensuring a successful future for the company. The land is very important to Maison Louis Jadot, and making the terroir shine through is always a priority. Maison Jadot identifies with its Burgundy heritage, and all wines are Appellation Contrôlée. The winery controls about 380 acres of land in Burgundy, including Côte d'Or, Mâconnais and Beaujolais. Jacques Lardière, winemaster, works with Christine, Guillaume, and Audrey to ensure that the single-variety wines produced, including Pinot Noir for reds, Chardonnay for whites, and Gamay for Beaujolais, always produce the best, most consistent wines.
