Add your reviewThe 2007 vintage on the central coast area produced some great chardonnay! La Crema and now this Chalone. For less than $15, perhaps even under $10, it's delicious! Surprisingly rich, smooth creamy butter tones with pineapple and other tropical fruits. Get some!
Only inexpensive Chardonnay from California to blow my mind since the early 1990's. Need to get a case, pronto.
Nicely balanced, crisp Chardonnay displays rich pear and citrus fruit along with attractive spicy/toasty notes. Refreshing, somewhat tight in the mouth. Very clean and classy feel, lingering finish. Our only complaint: we liked the old Chalone label! Extremely fairly priced at $19.99.

We're certain that you'll enjoy this Chardonnay. It's fresh appeal, touch of vanilla oak and bright apple and pear fruit character will please many palates. Chalone's wines are highly acclaimed and very well-made. This white is exemplary of their winemaking standards and offers a glance into their portfolio.
Exhibits a complex mix of subtle pear and mineral with pleasant earthy notes and floral scents. Tight and full-bodied, ending with a long, persistent finish. Drink now through 2012. 16,801 cases made. -JLYellow-gold. Musky aromas of pear skin, yellow plum and anise, plus a subtle vanilla quality. Sweet orange and vanilla flavors are given depth by a note of candied licorice and complicated by spice and floral qualities. Finishes slightly warm, with the licorice note repeating.

Our 2007 Estate Chardonnay is a true expression of Chalone's unique terroir capturing the very essence of our vineyard with toasty aromas of hazelnut, stone fruit, white pear and a unique minerality. On the palate, there is a bright acidity that mingles with flavors of fleshy pear, apricot, a bit of apple and is marked by Chalone’s distinctive minerality which comes from our vineyard’s unique limestone and decomposed granite soils. We allowed more than half of the wine to complete native malolactic fermentation to round the acidity and add creaminess which results in a long, lingering and bright finish that is absolutely delicious. Gentle stirring (bâtonnage) every two weeks during the 10 months of sur lie aging broadened the mouthfeel and enhanced the rich, silky texture.
