What to Expect

Chardonnay is America's most popular grape and with good reason. Made in styles that range from steely, mineral laced wines with crisp green apple fruit to wines that are buttery, rich, and laden with tropical fruits, there is a Chardonnay that will appeal to every palate. Chardonnay is most closely associated with France's Burgundy region and California's Northern valleys though it has proven successful around the globe.

A very interesting wine. It somehow straddles two styles of chardonnay. On one hand, it's a rich, dense wine with stone fruits and a creamy, smokey finish. On the other hand, it retains a wonderful, bright, crisp, character with nice acidity. Tremendous complexity.

CG 95pts. - According to the Connoisseurs Guide to Wine: On the one hand dense, deep and very well-extracted, yet on other both bright and balanced, this generously fruited offering is rife with wonderfully well-fit elements of juicy apples, citrus, sweet toast and cream in its rich aromas and follows with full-scaled flavors of real complexity and depth. A touch viscous but alive and in very fine balance from front to back, it continues to unfold at the finish with long flavors of fruit, minerals, spice and rich oak. There is far more wine here than first meets the nose and palate, and its remarkable read more...

A bountiful Chardonnay crop in 2005 was thinned to create balanced vines, and a cool growing season preserved fresh acidity and vibrant fruit character in the grapes. The resulting wine exhibits aromas of ripe stone fruit - apricot, peach and pear - along with tropical notes of deliciously ripe banana and pineapple. Brown spices such as clove, nutmeg and hazelnut frame the intense fruit. Lush and rich tropical flavors abound in its multi-textured and viscous palate.
