Ch Senejac Haut-medoc 2010
"Tasted at the Crus Bourgeois 2010 tasting in London. The Sénéjac has a superb bouquet with vigorous blackberry, wild strawberry and tobacco-tinged aromas that soar from the glass. The palate is medium-bodied with grippy, dry tannins. There is plenty of substance here with a dash of black pepper and cedar on the finish. Very St. Estephe like: this is an excellent cru bourgeois. Drink now-2018. Tasted September 2012. ...91" Neal Martin the Wine Journal erobertparker.com "Pontet-Canet’s brilliant proprietor, Alfred Tesseron, has begun to look after the wines of Senejac and the result is a tasty, elegant 2010 offering copious berry fruit notes intermixed with hints of cedarwood and spice. This cuvee should be drinkable upon release and evolve for a decade...87-90" WA 5/11 "Really ripe almost jammy sweet fruit with raspberries, black currant and vanilla. Some fresh citrusy notes too. Full on the palate with ripe fruit and soft texture. Fine smooth tannins and good length. This chateau always makes serious wine...92" JamesSuckling.com 02/13
Looking for a wine that reflects Bordeaux to a tee, this is a good exemplar; the strong - if I may be so bold - manly flavours of kirsch, cassis liqueur and medium body coffee are all here. The nose is forward and the entry is full of Cabernet power with a finish that is long and invigorating. May age a few years yet. 89 points.

This chateau is under the same ownership as Saint-Julien’s Château Talbot. The wine is firm, fruity, rich and concentrated, showing all the best qualities of 2010. There is a complex array of black fruits which are sustained by the firm, solid tannins. Age for at least 6–7 years.
Another sleeper of the vintage, Senejac’s 2010 (a blend of 48% Cabernet Sauvignon, 37% Merlot and the rest Cabernet Franc with a touch of Petit Verdot) exhibits wonderful intensity, an opaque purple color, and opulent blackberry and blueberry fruit along with hints of charcoal, white chocolate and graphite. This lush, heady, rich wine is a considerable over-achiever from this property in the northern Medoc that can be drunk over the next 6–8 years.
Fresh and open-knit, with friendly notes of raspberry and cherry preserves laced with hints of red licorice and toasted vanilla. Solid and direct, kept honest by just enough grip. Drink now through 2014.
