A chocolately, berry-scented nose with weedy cassis, licorice, and earth aromas is follower by a medium-bodied wine with fine concentration. Although monolithic, the 1995 is well-made, mouthfilling and moderately tannic. Anticipated maturity: 2003-2015.

Black pepper and exotic, high-toned spices rise above the roasted oak and jam of fruit, offering a complexity based more on the oak for now. Let it evolve beyond the heath bar and coffee smoothness, and the other layers may appear. the jammy fruit of the '99 doesn't seem to have that potential.

Even in the highly acclaimed 2005 vintage, Du Tertre remains under most consumer's radar. Made by essentially the same winemaking team as Giscours, this cuvee exhibits a dense purple color, followed by earthy, truffle, smoky blackberry, floral, and cassis aromas. It is a beautifully pure, medium to full-bodied wine with abundant but sweet tannin, fine opulence, a multilayered texture, and a long finish that is neither aggressive nor astringent. Cellar it for another 3-4 years, and consume it over the following 20-25.

This pure, rich, dense ruby/purple-hued 2003 offers sweet aromas of wood smoke, chocolate-covered black cherries, plums, and licorice. Medium to full-bodied, seductive, and fleshy with low acidity as well as ripe tannin, it should drink well young ye... Robert Parker. Deep red-ruby. Deeply pitched aromas of mocha, chocolate and minerals. Quite sweet and creamy in the mouth, with dense flavors of plum and coffee liqueur. A big, broad, thick wine, at once smoother and more vibrant than the 2004 but a bit inscrutable today. Finishes fairly tannic but with noteworthy persistence. Seemed to come into harmony as it opened in the glass.

Slightly funky with ripe fruit and toasted oak. Smoky. Full-bodied, with chewy tannins and a medium finish. I like this a lot still even though its a little earthy and rustic. Best after 2009. Wine Spectator. A Bordeaux Blend wine from Bordeaux in France. 2003 Du Tertre 6000ml
