Cesari Sangiovese di Romagna Riserva 2007
Umberto Cesari is located in the Emilia-Romagna D.O.C. and lies on the border of the more reputable and famous for vino D.O.C. Toscana. Umberto Cesari and his wife, Giuliana, founded their estate in Castel San Pietra. They expanded their vineyards as well as their family, and it remains a family winery producing typical reds and whites of the region. This Sangiovese Riserva is produced from only the best clusters of grapes. This wine has an intense cherry aroma with a touch of violets followed by a full, rich flavour with firm tannins.

Colour: Straw YellowNose: A very fruity wine with hints of pearand apple.Taste: Well balanced and full rounded tastewhich ends with a most elegant finish.Food pairing suggestion: Perfect for fishstarters and first courses, with sufficient bodyand character to make it pleasant to drink onits own.Available size: 0.750 lt.
A little lighter than Chianti, and not quite as dry, with smooth dried cherry and cranberry flavors mingled with suggestions of leather and spice that play out nicely on the finish. The flavors are perfectly balanced and elegant. Probably should be selling for three times the price.
