Centine Direct Rose Table Wine Toscana 2005
"Banfis Centine Rosé 2005 (the first vintage for this wine) is designated I.G.T. Indicazione Geografica Typica because rosé wines are not officially permitted in Tuscany. Who cares? This is a terrific version. The color is light cherry with a peach overlay, but the scents and flavors are pure strawberry-raspberry with hints of smacky, juicy melon and Rainier cherry. An impression of sweetness on the entry, because the fruit is so ripe, immediately turns dry. The texture is so dense that its almost viscous, but the wine is never heavy or anything other than supremely refreshing due to squinging acid and the lime and limestone that come in on the finish. "
Across Tuscany and anywhere wine is made, nature gives us its bounty. At Castello Banfi and throughout the varied terroirs and soils that make up our constellation of vineyards, we harvest the goodness of the earth, caressing and nurturing it as we craft our wine to express all its character in every bottle.

Smoky dark color. LIcorice aromas. Medium bodied, with blackberry flavors and oaky finish. Amazing wine for the price, as always with Banfi.
