Suggested Recipe Pairing presented by
Coconut Rice Sweet Potato Cheesecake

RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

Winemaker's Notes:

Scala Dei is in the forefront of a movement to a more balanced and elegant style within DOCa Priorat, the second region awarded Spain’s Demominacion de Origen Calificada. The first winery in Priorat, Scala Dei dates back to 1163. the winery owns and farms 100% of the grapes used to make its wines. Scala Dei Cartoixa shows the perfect typicity of Priorat.

Tasting Notes:

Priorat intensity is on full display in this wine: raisins, black plums, chocolate, blackberries, and cassis. If there’s not a powerful set of toasty barrel notes to offset those fruits, the oak present is plenty vibrant too; vanilla, cinnamon, and even marshmallow add to the fun. This is rather soft by Priorat’s usual chewy standards, but it looses nothing in density and it’s not shy on the alcohols, just like its Priorat brethren.
