I really love this wine, and I love the price even more. This was a staple until the 04 vintage ran out at my local wine store. There are plenty of flavor descriptions here for the 04, so I'll just say that I had great luck with this vintage, not just personally but with friends. The bottle presentation is very nice, and the litany of aromas and flavors impresses guests. I do wish it had a real cork closure, but for the price, I understand. I would rather see a screw top over a rubber cork, I just haven't warmed up to them. Unfortunately, I did not enjoy the 05 nearly as much. I bought a few bottles when it was released and just found it a little dull, nothing offensive I can even put my finger on, its just not as lively as the 04.
Possibly the best value on the market year after year. These old vine blends coming out of Spain are awesome deals and exhibit a quality and craftsmanship comparable to(often better than) the Rhone's best.
A very good daily wine with no pretensions and much better than most wines in this price category. Actually more drinkable than the more complex 2005 vintage. Worth getting a case if you like Grenache. Not too new worldy like the 2005. Think of a nice house wine with Tapas in a dive in Madrid and this fits the bill.

90 Points - The Wine Advocate "The purple-colored 2007 Mas Donis Barrica is a blend of 85% Garnacha (from vineyards over 80 years of age) and 15% Syrah. Aged for eight months in French and American oak, it was bottled without fining and filtration. It offers up an alluring bouquet of smoke, pencil lead, earth notes, clove, cinnamon, and black cherry. This leads to a wine with remarkable depth and concentration for its humble price, savory flavors, and a fruit-filled finish. Although it is likely to evolve for 1-2 years, there is no reason to delay gratification. "90 Points - International Wine Cellar "Ruby-red. Powerfully scented bouquet of raspberry, blackberry, cocoa powder and smoky minerals, with a sexy floral overtone. Lush and creamy but lively, with strong red berry flavors and supple texture. Highly alluring wine with lingering sweet notes of rose and red berries."
Winemaker's Notes:
"The 2004 Mas Donis Barrica is 85% Garnacha from 80+-year-old vines and 15% Syrah aged for 8 months in French and American oak. Opaque purple, it has a wonderfully expressive nose of spice box, pencil lead, pepper, blueberry, and blackberry liqueur. On the palate the wine is full-bodied with layers of ripe, spicy black fruits, nicely concealed tannins, and a long, pure finish. It is an outstanding value for drinking now and over the next 4-6 years." -Wine Advocate
