Celler Can Blau 'Blau' 2011
External Reviews for Celler Can Blau 'Blau'
Inky purple. Spice-accented aromas and flavors of blackberry, boysenberry and licorice, with black pepper and mineral nuances. Juicy and precise, finishing with very good energy and lingering spiciness. This is still a baby.
The 2011 Blau is a blend of 50% Carinena, 25% Syrah and 25% Garnacha from vines aged between 25 and 40 years planted at 600 meters and aged in oak for four months. It has an attractive fresh red currant and raspberry-scented bouquet that is fresh and defined. The palate is medium-bodied with a sweet candied entry. This is well-balanced with a crisp seam of acidity, while the finish is simple but clean and packed full of red fruits. This is a great price for a great little wine. Drink now–2015.
Intense violet hue with a brilliant nose loaded with dark fruit and floral notes. Rich blackberry and plum dominate on the palate, with well-balanced anise and pepper, finishing with plush, velvety tannins.
