Petite Syrah or Duriff is a wonderful grape not always given the credit properly deserved. This one doesnt exactly honor that, maybes its due to all of the Redwood Valley PS out there that i've tasted. Good to ok color, deep red to black, but still not thick enough. If Pinot is skim milk then Petite Syrah is whole milk in texture. This was like 2%, so some people might like it. Dull fruit, with some brightness of blackberry and plum on the front and mostly mid palate. Yet little spice and licorce on the finish, but to give credit it does have a bit of complexity, just not enough for my taste. Onward.
