Food Pairings for Cedro Do Noval Vinho Regional Duriense Quinta Do Noval
A really good new blend! Reach, smooth and balanced. Condensation of red-black fruits is typical for Portuguese dry reds. The acidity is moderate and the tannins are round and plenty.
An unfortified wine from Quinta Do Noval is an event indeed, and one that has
been well worth the wait. Made from 30% Touriga Nacional, 30% Touriga Franca ,
10% Tinta Roriz and 30% ....drum- roll.....Syrah.....the wine
combines the traditional 'port' varieties with the innovation from
the Syrah. And does so rather well, the Syrah lending shape but also a silky
charm to the fruit profile.

The excellent 2007 vintage has ensured ripeness, but the superb winemaking team
have been careful to avoid over-ripness or over-extraction. The palate is
therefore both silky and savoury, with a character, almost floral, which gives
it an identity all of its own.
(Simon Field MW, BBR Buyer)
