Food Pairings for Cc Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley
Fruit forward nose with bright berry notes. Almost leans to jammy with a zinfandel-like set of aromas. Driven by red currant and accented by brambly red wild berry fruit, raspberry and pomegranate. Some dusty aromas. Some minerality but I detect no wood on the nose. Ripe on the palate as well. Good acidity and modest tannin. Macerated red berry fruit with a heavy, almost liquer-like feel. The palate is driven by currant flavors and leans a tad sour. There are pretty hints of vanilla that accent the fruit nicely. Only through a lot of oral aeration does any hint of wood show up. This wine has been very different between 07 and 09 vintages. This vintage seems the least complex and rich, but it drinks well and should age a bit and integrate more fully with more time in bottle. Still a great performer for the price. 86 pts. 4/25/13
Loads of tart, sour cherry on the nose, with a strong edge of bitter chocolate, hints of espresso, raspberry, cranberry and soil. Bracing acidity up front due to its relative youth. Tart red fruits and strong favors of cranberry and sour cherry. Bitter dark chocolate, as well as some slight hints of licorice/anise, a suggestion of mint and a pleasant earthiness. Another six months should balance it out even further, but buy it now, because it never lasts long!
This drinks like a much pricier cab. Rumor is it's sourced fruit from Harlan and other top vineyards. It's powerful and rich with nice toasty tones and some cocoa powder amidst mineral tones and ripe red and black fruits.
Big chocolate on the nose up front. Rich, deep red fruits and hints of eucalyptus and some sage. On the palate, again chocolate greets you, followed by rich red berry fruit, some black fruit tones, some hints of vanillin, sweet oak and again, some cocoa powder on the finish. Delicious!
I dont want to get all fancy on this. It is really simple. This was hands down the best Cab I have ever tasted!. We were lucky enough to have the Sommelier at the Cosmo in Las Vegas open a bottle for us during a tasting. We tasted many other Cabs that were double and triple the cost. This was the best! I crave this wine
