RiceSelect's creamy Arborio gets blended with sweet potato, coconut milk and vanilla to create this decadent cheesecake. Pairs well with Saunternes; a white dessert wine that has hints of coconut from aging in oak barrels.

A Chardonnay wine from California in USA. 2007 Mer Soleil Chardonnay Barrel Fermented 750ml
A lush and delicious Chardonnay, with pure fruit flavors. The owners of Caymus Vineyards decided they wanted to produce Chardonnay so they found vineyards with the best possible micro-climate. The Santa Lucia Highlands in Monterey is a Mecca for Chardonnay and Pinot Noir and the grapes for this wine take on an intensity of flavor and tremendous complexity without ever coming in contact with oak. Rated 91 points by Wine Spectator who said "Combines ripe, intense peach, nectarine and tangerine fruit, with touches of floral and spice. Gains body and depth, turning creamy in texture." not sponsored by or affiliated with The Wine Spectator, The Wine Advocate or the International Wine Cellar.
Soft gold in the glass, the nose is bright and rich with orchard fruits, summer honey, wildflowers and cranberry. Up front, the palate is ripe with peach, Bartlett pear, apple and sweet lemon but the mid-palate shows a refreshing herbal lift of fresh... Elizabeth Becker. Layered aromas of mango, peach, nectarine and citrus dominate the nose, underscored by more subtle notes of honey, caramel and light smoke. The wine is fresh and citrusy on entry, deepening and becoming richer on the mid-palate as flavors of lemon creme brulée, sone fruits and creamy butter fold in. The finish is long and complex, combining notes of honey and citrus with a lush, mouthfilling texture.
Ripe, rich and expressive style, with loads of tropical fruit, pear, fig, apricot and buttery oak, all neatly woven together. The texture is smooth and polished, with a long, detailed, citrusy aftertaste. Drink now through 2006.
er Soleil is named after the two elements that most affect its growing conditions: sun and sea. A single vineyard, it is in the northern-most site of the Santa Lucia Highlands appellation and the closest vineyard in the appellation to the Monterey Bay. During the growing season, warmer inland temperatures at the southern end of the Salinas Valley pull morning and evening fogs into the vineyard. By contrast, the afternoons are evenly warm and sunny. A brisk wind that arises almost every afternoon from the Bay works as natural air conditioning for the vines, providing for slow ripening of fruit. In addition, the absence of rain throughout the growing season keeps the grapes dry and pristine. The result is one of the coolest, driest vineyard sites in California. Mer Soleil Chardonnay has been produced since the 1992 vintage. Since then they have increased the complexity of the wine they make by planting nine different Chardonnay clones in the vineyard which are vinified separately. With Mer Soleil Chardonnay a variety of different Chardonnay clones are trained on three different trellis systems to enhance the potential for ripening, thinning and shading conditions. The wine opens with tropical fruit and honeysuckle aromas. Luxurious flavours of crème brulée and even a hint of butter are framed by notes of fine oak and the lively acidity of citrus zest.Themouth-feel is full and lush and brings all the wine's elements through to a long, persistent finish. Try this fantastically full and creamy Chardonnay with similarly rich and dishes. Roast Ham, creamed chicken breast with morel mushrooms or risotto work wonders for the experience this wine will bring.
