Smooth and full bodied that finished dry at the end.
One of the best wines I have had to this day. There were notes of earth, fig, and leather in this wine and the finish contunued for well over 30 seconds. Deffinatly ready to drink.
External Reviews for Caymus Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Napa
Creamy black cherry aromas layered with fresh brussel sprouts and spicy arugula flavors of red plums and toasted oak.
Manages to feel both soft and tannic at the same time, which means it's fine now but should age for a few years. The black currant and smoky oak flavors are harmonious, with sweet fruit lasting through the long finish.
Openly fruity, rich, lush and layered, serving up a complex mix of plum, blackberry, black licorice and spices. Full-bodied and supple-textured, ending with a long, persistent finish that keeps repeating the core flavor themes. Drink now through 2018.
Ripe and fleshy, with rich plum, wild berry, spice and savory herb notes that are complex, full-bodied and expansive on the palate, ending with firm tannins and a dash of espresso. Drink now through 2016.
Scarlet color and brackish edges. Nose is sweet fruit and smoked meats. This wine already has some bouquet - truffle mushrooms, vanilla style oak. The palate is creamy richness with nuances of leather and a cocoa-style fine grain tannin. The flavors and structure of this vintage are consistent with the Caymus style - spice, toast, cassis - fully rich, yet supple.
