User Reviews for Caymus Special Selection Caberenet Sauvignon

Winemaker's Notes:

Notes on the Caymus Special Selection Caberenet Sauvignon 2005 : WINE SPECTATOR REVIEW: 94 POINTS Firm, intense and well-structured, with a mix of spicy oak, red and black currant, mineral, sage and dusty berry. Turns elegant and refined, yet shows a sturdy backbone on the finish. Best from 2009 through 2014through 2014.J.L. WINE ADVOCATE REVIEW: 92-94 POINTS A barrel sample of the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon Special Selection offers terrific fruit intensity and purity, a more laid-back style, a meaty, chewy texture, and impressive opulence as well as length. It should evolve for 10-15 years. CALIFORNIA GRAPEVINE REVIEW: 90 POINTS Medium-dark purplish ruby; attractive, intense, spicy, toasty, cassis and ripe black cherry fruit aroma with a notes of vanilla and cola; full body; big, rich textured, concentrated, black cherry and blackberry fruit flavors with a layer of charred oak; firmly structured; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Developed depth and intensity as it aired in the glass. Deserves another five more years of bottle aging. Highly recommended. Feb/Mar 2008CAYMUS SPECIAL SELECTION CABERENET SAUVIGNON 2005
