Tight on the nose with big black and blue fruit wrapped in a blanket of smoke, earth, dried leaves and hints of spice. Rather soft on entry then turning tighter and more focused. This has lovely inner mouth perfumes, redolent of black fruit and softly integrated spices with a hint of sweet tobacco adding detail. The finish is subtle, modest long, but again quite aromatic. The texture is much more youthful, still rather wrapped up on itself but the wine is well balanced and well proportioned. Enjoy it now if you prefer a more aggressive, spicy wine but let this age for a few years and this should soften up nicely releasing it's core of rich yet balanced fruit. 91pts

Sweet, blackberry aromas with a hint of basil and spice. Tar and leather, with some drying tannins and acidity, lots of structure with a backbone of wooded character and some cherry cough syrup on the finish.
