What do you get when you combine a half-century of winemaking expertise, the dramatic landscape and terroir of northern Italy, and a profound enjoyment of the good things in life? The answer is simple: the CAVIT COLLECTION, source of America’s #1 Italian wine. Through the years, savvy wine lovers have come to depend on the CAVIT COLLECTION as their favorite “go-to” source for stylish, elegant and versatile wines, perfect for any occasion. This stellar range of high-quality, food-friendly wines is produced at the Cavit winery in Trentino, a picturesque landscape of mountains, lakes, apple orchards and medieval castles. Vineyards in this region enjoy the warming effects of the "Ora del Garda," a dry, balmy breeze that sweeps across Lake Garda and protects the fruit from external moisture and disease. Contrastingly cool evenings promote rich, intense aromas and flavors in the grapes. Winemaking is overseen by Anselmo Martini, a 20+ year industry veteran and one of northern Italy’s top enologists. Production Area The Oltrepò Pavese, which means “beyond the Po River,” accounts for approximately 40,000 acres of vineyard planted in the southwestern part of Lombardy, Italy, on the right bank of the Po river, in the province of Pavia. Here the landscape of steeply rolling hills comprises limestone and clay-based soil, well-suited to the cultivation of vines. Only recently have the wines of Lombardy begun to acquire a well-deserved recognition that extends beyond regional borders. Traditionally these wines were sold in local country restaurants and taverns, along the banks of the Ticino and Po rivers. Grape Varieties 100% Moscato Vinification Cold fermentation, including brief skin contact, is conducted under rigorously controlled conditions in order to facilitate maximum extraction of aromas. Refinement takes place in stainless steel tanks, with early bottling designed to maintain the wine’s naturally fresh bouquet. Color Pale yellow with green highlights Bouquet Notes of apricot, white peach and sage Taste Refreshing, lively and superbly balanced, with a vibrant frizzante quality and wonderful sweetness. Alcohol 7.5% Serving Suggestions Enjoy with flavorful appetizers, cheeses and spicy dishes. Wonderful with fruit and chocolate.

Cavit is a company deeply rooted in the region to which it belongs: Trentino. A small area in the north-east of Italy where the vine, olive tree and Mediterranean-type vegetation live side by side with spruces and larches of the Alpine flora. A land of ancient traditions and culture, where the presence of man, with his villages, castles and cultivated terraces blends in harmoniously with the majestic Alpine landscapes. The image that best represents Cavit, a large co-operative composed of a large number of small wineries, is that of the vine that produces healthy grapes only if the roots and the other parts of the plant all perform their roles properly. Created in 1950 to meet the needs of the winegrowers in the area to offer the very best quality and market their wines in a modern way, today Cavit represents over 4,500 winegrowers who are members of 11 cellars and 65% of the wine production in Trentino (around 7,000 ha). Cavit harvests, examines and selects its raw materials from the best produce of the cooperative member cellars, which undergoes strict controls at every stage: from refining to bottling. Cavit today is one of the major companies in the wine business, operating successfully at national and international level. The headquarters in Ravina, where the production and logistics facilities are also located, house the Wine Cellar, Sparkling Wine Cellar and Wine Shop. Cavit also owns Maso Toresella, used for corporate entertaining, on Lake Toblino. Read less
