User Reviews for Cave de Pomérols Coteaux du Languedoc Picpoul-de-Pinet Hugues Beaulieu
Add your reviewPours a very pale straw color, almost colorless with thick tears. Sweet creamy papaya, hints of pineapple and banana, slight citrusy undertones near the back end. Light-bodied with a striking acidity, grapefruit, tropical fruit, and a little minerality characterize the front and mid-palate. The acidity is very crisp, almost prickly on the front palate, and is balanced by a creamy fruitiness on the short finish. Overall this is a clean, simple, easy-drinking wine that would go well with light, sweeter dishes. Except for the beautiful bottle though, this wine isn't very memorable.
Purchased this as a recommendation from wine merchant, and found it a delightful alternative to the usual summer quaffers. As it is produced in a warmer climate, it is well suited to summer. As an aperitif, paired very well with a spicy garden salsa, with the sweeter notes upfront helping to calm the heat. Paired decently with grilled chicken marinated in olive oil, oregano and cumin, and grilled veggies. Mouth-filling, rounded pear and melon flavors; good acidity; crisp finish. Good value; will buy more.
