Served chilled. Somewhat of a medium to full body but with very strong acidity. Not really my favorite white Burgundy.
I like the French chardonnay approach. Higher acidity, higher minerality with a soft finish. We had it with pork chops and it balanced nicely. Could also just as easily imagine drinking it by the sea with some fresh oysters. Actually, i think that would be the perfect sidekick for this wine... It does remind me of a Chablis, although you can taste the oak and there's a good amount of citrus in here, but it's a great value at $10 and that's what my summer wines are all about!
Crisp, clean. Nice finish. Drank as aperitif. Light taste, not fruity.
External Reviews for Cave de Lugny Chardonnay Mâcon-Lugny les Charmes
The Les Charmes vineyard is specially prized for the age of its vines, some as old as 100 years, and its exceptional southern exposure. The wine, vinified and bottled at the nearby Cave de Lugny, is the best selling white Burgundy in the United States.
Richer and more intense that most Macons; medium body, clean and fresh Chardonnay fruit flavors.
