Aromatic, powerfull, red fruit, specially raspberry. Lovely wine
Warm, rich, seductive, smooth, full mouth of fruits, deep plum with some tannic raspberry jam taste, not sweet, just full and fruity. At the right temperature, also delightful hints of smoke, tar and graphite (sharp metallic note). This is a glorious decadent medium bodied wine, which is great with just about anything. Low mouthy tannins and a very long finish. Great for drinking anytime.

Rock solid, with thoroughly ripe blackberry and boysenberry fruit augmented by hints of toast, spice, mineral and loam. Dense and plush, but vivid and defined through the finely stitched finish. Drink now through 2007.
Lovely raspberry, plum and blackberry fruit, with hints of vanilla, brier and minerals underneath. Good grip and focus. Textbook introduction to Malbec. Drink now through 2004.
Ruby-red. Subdued, brooding aromas of blackberry, violet and licorice. A sweet, fat, pliant fruit bomb, with flavors of cherry, red plum and licorice complicated by fresh herbs. Slightly exotic in the middle palate. Fairly large-scaled wine with good finishing fruit. This rather user-friendly wine makes a very good ambassador for malbec from Argentina.
Appealing yet timid aromas of black fruits are found in the nose of the 2003 Catena Malbec. There are 25,000 cases of this fresh, focused wine. Redolent with red as well as black fruits and violets, its personality is medium-bodied and expressive. Its long finish reveals loads of tannin. Projected maturity: 2006-2012.
Once again, the house style awaits: toast and char on the nose. But it's not masking anything; instead, that smoky edge not only carries but also adds a buttery edge to the strawberry, raspberry, chocolate and coffee that complete this textbook Malbec. A blend of two vineyards, and proprietary in its flavors.
Balsamic vinegar and earth aromas get it started, with baked fruit and chocolate playing second fiddle. Solid, spicy and in no way flabby; in fact, it's rather firm on the palate. Not quite rich and fruity enough to make the highest echelon, but still a very good Malbec.
This is serious Malbec: ripe and rich with aromas of blackberries and cherries, it has a finish that lingers on, with black fruits and firm flavors of spice.
"Ripe and concentrated, boasting vibrant aromas and flavors of crushed blackberry, raspberry and cassis, which unfold to reveal layers of spice, licorice and sweet oak as hints of graphite fill the long, juicy finish. This has power, but is well-balanced...93" WS 12/10
