Offers a distinctive note of orange blossom honey and a reasonably long finish, but without the mouth-filling quality one would expect from Catena’s higher line of wines. (AV 85, http://argovino.com/?p=328)

One of the best Argentine value Chardonnays on the market. The nose is stylish, with butterscotch, honeyed apple and vanilla notes. Smooth on the palate, with more than adequate apple and peach flavors, and then pure and fairly long on the finish. For clarity and real Chardonnay character, there aren't many better options than this.
Ripe and languid, with tasty pear, buttered almond and fig notes that glide through the toasty, medium-weight finish. Drink now.
Light gold, hint of toast and minerality; ample fruit, decent concentration, medium long finish.
Bright, full yellow. Enticing aromas of nectarine and nutmeg complicated by a leesy element. Supple, sweet and fine-grained, with a seamless texture to the stone fruit and spice flavors. Very nicely balanced, fruit-driven chardonnay with well-integrated acidity and a smooth and persistent finish. A terrific value.
Consistent with past vintages, this wine features a soft, sweet nose of popcorn, buttered white fruits and baked apple. It's generic in feel, with chunky apple and citrus flavors that finish with pineapple, lemon and sweet banana. Round and easy; not edgy, hard or complicated.
Great buy for fans of bold, oaked Chardonnay! Well-balanced, with lots of bright tropical and citrus fruit flavors peeking out from behind the generous amounts of toasty, buttery oak. Another terrific vintage from an always-reliable producer.
Fabulous bargain for California Chardonnay lovers - medium body, fresh, juicy pear and crisp apple fruits with a tasty hint of spicy oak on the finish.
Mittleres Gelb, funkelnd goldene Reflexe.
The 2009 Catena Alta Chardonnay presents an intense greenish-yellow color. The nose offers peaches, vanilla and citric aromas with light floral notes and hints of spice and toasted bread. The palate shows rich and concentrated ripe pear, apricot flavors and a light note of sweet nutmeg spice. Finishes long and complex with crisp, mineral acidity.
