Not bad but not a lot going on with this pinot, pretty much what you'd expect for the price. Light, with some bright cherry not much depth or finish. Read more

Clear, light intensity, ruby wine with restrained aromas. Fresh strawberry, red cherry, white pepper, some earthiness, and vanilla on the nose. Dry, minimal tannin, good pronounced acidity, med- body and flavours match what's on the nose. Med- finish. Good.

As is the case with most Pinots, this needs some time to breathe. This is an awesome Pinot for the price. I love Pinot Noir but do not drink much of it because it tends to be cost prohibitive. This one bucks the trend giving you $25/bottle quality for about $12. Can't go wrong with that. Nice garnet color. Classic nose, fruit forward with raspberry being predominant. A little black cherry and pepper to go with it. Fruity on the palate with a little spice on the back end and a good length on the finish. Great stuff.

This is about the best bang for the buck you can get in a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir.... and 2008 has proved to be an incredible vintage so far!!

Also thought this was a great bargin a Willamette Valley Pinot Noir well under $15. Was very pleased paired well with a roasted turkey, our sons even enjoyed it they are use to us drinking big in your face cabs and the like and enjoyed the easy drinkability and smooth finish of this pick will go back for a few more.

Wine Tasting NotesOur Castle Rock Pinot Noir is produced from grapes grown in Oregons Willamette Valley. Sheltered by the Cascade Mountains, this area is on the same latitude as Frances Burundy region, and in the past thirty years it has gained international recognition as one of the most prestigious appellations for this cool-climate varietal. This elegant medium-bodied wine offers aromas of cherry and spice. On the palate the wine give flavors of berries, cinnamon, black cherry, sweet vanilla oak, and floral notes, with a long velvety finish. This versatile wine pairs well with lamb, chicken, veal, salmon and light pasta dishes.
