Castle Rock Pinot Noir Cal. Cuvee 2008
Wine Advocate #144 (Dec 2002) The highlight of this winery year in and year out is their Saeculum, a barrique-aged blend of 60% Sangiovese, 30% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 10% Merlot. The superb opaque ruby/purple-colored 2000 Saeculum exhibits a big, sweet bouquet of melted chocolate fudge, espresso roast, blackberries, and cherries with a suggestion of licorice and leather in the background. It possesses terrific stuffing, admirable purity, a layered palate impression, and a long, full-bodied, concentrated finish. This is top-notch! Anticipated maturity: 2006-2020. Parker-93pts.

Very food friendly!! Rather nondescript nose with a hint of soft sweet berry. Bright but mild berry fruit taste with a soft finish.
I really liked it, sweet berry flavors (I think the stawberry really comes out), a touch of oak, nice finish, and delightfull all round.
Nice plum flavors. Smooth with pleasant aftertaste.
This is my first review. I think the wine is okay. I don't think there is much depth to this wine.
Smooth and mellow with lots of berry flavors and a mellow finish. Very food friendly. Great value in a Pinot.
A heavy and spicy pinot. Love it!
A fair, but mostly bland pinot noir. Even though it is (super) cheap for a pinot noir, it's really not worth the money.
