Food Pairings for Castle Rock Dry Creek Zinfandel
light nose w/ raspberry notes. Nice cherry on the palate but the wine seems just a tad "light". Finish is also light with just a hint of pepper and short/medium length. This is not your typical big, bold, peppery Dry Creek Valley zin. Decent table wine but not something I'd pull out on special occasions. It's not that it's bad, it's just not all that great.
External Reviews for Castle Rock Dry Creek Zinfandel
I chose to feature this wine in our educational class about California Zinfandel. This supple wine boasts an invitingly rich ruby hue and bursts with red fruit aromas. The concentrated core of blackberry and ripe cherry flavors is round and lush, with a hint of pepper and light vanilla oak. All these complex flavors unflold into a long and beautifully balanced finish. The wine makes an excellent accompaniment to grilled meat, pasta dishes and an assortment of cheeses.
