Castle Rock Cabernet Sauvignon Paso Robles 2011
This is a classic, rich Cabernet Sauvignon with a dark purple color and expressive aromas of black cherry and spice. On the palate the wine is intense, luscious and full-bodied with a rich core of berry and earthy flavors, and there are hints of spice and vanilla in its long harmonious finish. It makes an excellent companion to beef, lamb, venison and most cheeses.

Paso Robles earth amd structure in a supple, smooth juice. Blackberries, chocolate, pepper, mint and oak are well balanced with alcohol, tannic structure and acidity. This has a lifting, chewy aftertaste. Juicy and with medium length it begs for red meats on the grill. This Castle Rock tasting was a real eye opener for some and a re-affirmation for other. Well done. Paul 88 points
For an inexpensive cabernet, I was pleasantly surprised. Nice fruit with acceptable body and pleasant finish. Give it few minutes to open up. I will buy it again to drink with my baked ziti. Glad I took a chance.
