Castillo de Monseran Garnacha Cariñena 2007
From the Cariñena DO, this wine has a deep red color. Aromatically, intense, with great complexity. Smoky, red fruits (red currant, strawberry) with tones of vanilla and spice. The texture is lush, soft tannins with long flavors of red fruits and vanilla. To be served with all-meat dishes marinated or coked, pasta dishes and perhaps best after a meal.
Wild flowers, dirt, old leather, tobacco, walnuts and red fruit on the nose. Palate opens with high notes of tangy mango, raspberry and blueberry, underscored by black dirt and tart berries, then walnuts and caramel, all encompassed by a zesty acidity laced with strawberry syrup. Medium finish displays in a velvety mouthfeel with a fruit-filled zing just before before dryness sets in. At the price, a real value and worth keeping in the closet for an easy drinking garnacha.
With an extremely long finish this wine is sure to please! Slight caramelized and spicy aroma. Woody, nutty.
The best wine I've had for under $10 in a long time! The grapes where grown in the cooler mountain regions of Carinena, Spain, macerated and then fermented, producing a smooth, intensified fruit flavor (most particularly black cherry). There's a lot of spice and a slight tobacco on the nose.
Quite good for the price! Came back to it after trying other inexpensive reds.
I am new to wine. I tend to like fruit foward wines, and this is one of them. Great aroma with a long finish. This is the best wine I've had at this price.Taste like 30 dollar wine, but its not. Tannins are just right, fruit is not sweet at all. would reccomend. smile.
