Sweet, but with excellent acidity but that leaves the palate cleansed and refreshed. Made at the Premier Cru Estate of Ch. Suduiraut... an Estate that dates back to the 16th Century, Castelnau is one of the best values from the appellation. At the price, you can't find a better dessert wine.Castelnau is a blend of 90% Semillon and 10% Sauvignon. This is fermented in new oak barrels and then aged for 24 months in second year barrels. The wine shows a beautiful golden colour, sign of great concentration. The powerful nose exhibits notes of crystallized fruits, spices and toasted aromas, adding freshness in the aftertaste. After a powerful attack, the wine is very generous in the mouth, again with aromas of crystallized. Lush sweetness that is honey on the palate with spicy flavors and a beautiful freshness. The wine is nectar quality, both powerful and elegant, is a perfect expression of the vintage with a great potential for ageing.
