Castelmaure Corbières Col des Vents 2007
Dark violet color. Red plum and watermelon on nose, some spice too. Soft in mouth, medium tannins, a tart and acidic finish. Even though the alcohol is fairly low, this tastes a bit out of balance. Good value though.Add winemaker's notes

deep ruby color; ripe fruit aromas of blueberry, raspberry, black cherry dominate with pepper, spice and herbal notes on the nose; medium bodied and a smooth finish -- hell of a wine for 10 bucks. complex, well integrated. makes for a great everyday wine or by-the-glass in a restaurant
Aroma: blueberry, black cherry, spice, pepper. Flavor: Blueberry, Spice, watermelon, pepper, raspberry, black pepper, fairly complex for price , medium body, slightly acidic, medium to light tannins, Might have some aging potential (8 - 10 years) All in all I like it, corbieres is one of my "go-to" inexpensive wines, because it is similar to Rhone wines including CDP and in many cases cheaper. This wine is fairly complex, much more so then one should expect from a $10 bottle.
Soft. No tannins. Hint of acidity. Deep chocolate and berry flavor.
raspberry and blueberry, medium tannins, nice balance of acidity and spice.....definitely some interesting complexity - a good value drinking wine

This deep ruby/purple-colored, modern-styled, unfiltered blend of 50% Syrah and 50% Grenache exhibits abundant quantities of creamy new oak along with luscious blackberry and cassis fruit, vanilla, toast, and chocolate overtones. Medium-bodied, fat, and lusty, it will provide considerable pleasure over the next 2-3 years.
Corbieres, one of the best Languedoc regions, is in southern France near the border of Spain. Carignan is the dominant grape, although many other varieties grow here. This is a delicious, smooth, juicy wine to enjoy with beef, chicken or pork.
We found this to be a lighter wine with notes of cherry, pepper, oak, and spice. A pleasant, easy-drinking red.
A ripe, juicy style, with flavors of raspberry, dark currant and kirsch. Mincemeat and plum pudding notes fill the supple, spicy finish. Drink now through 2011.
This Grenache, Syrah and Carignan blend from southeastern France is bold and fruity, yet finishes quite dry. Aromas of vanilla, dark berries and black cherries waft from the glass, inviting you to tip your glass again and again. Sweet toffee and wild fruit flavors roll across the palate. Excellent for any fan of Rhone-style reds.
A 50-50 Syrah/Grenache blend, this medium- to full-bodied red has an inviting nose of sweet cherry liqueur and baked fruit, followed by a mouthful of chewy blackberry and cassis flavors and trails of lingering spices. Absolutely smooth and delicious!
A top-flight Corbieres from this reliable producer, the 2007 Grand Cuvee is a blend of 45% Grenache, 45% Syrah, and 10% Carignan. Abundant notes of spicy fruitcake, roasted herb, toast, black currant, and kirsch emerge from this expressive, round, generous, full-bodied red. It is ideal for drinking over the next 5-6 years.
