Castello di Gabbiano Chianti Classico DOCG 2008
In the glass, the Chianti Classico is a bright ruby red color. The nose exhibits a delicate floral bouquet of violets with hints of cherry jam and tobacco. The palate is filled with spices and ripe blackberries along with a fresh, natural acidity. The tannins are smooth and well integrated, while the dry finish is medium-long.
Went nicely with lasagna. A good food wine. And good after dinner. My first Chianti since I've been keeping track. Nice Aroma. It gives hints that some good things await further down the Chianti trail.
all around good wine for the price. very fragrant nose, well rounded body, and mild tasty finish. We will be buying this again!
