One of the oldest existing estates in Chianti, the Castello Di Cacchiano was built in the 11th century and has been owned by the Firidolfi family for over 900 years. This is elegant, traditional Chianti with a lovely dried cherry aroma, brilliant fruit and enlivening acidity on the palate. No new oak, no modern excessive extraction. Just perfect Sangiovese flavors. If you like the way Chiantis used to taste you will love this 2004

Bottled just this past August, this has an elegant, spiced bouquet, with cherries on the mid-palate and a saline mineral character on the finish. Rich and cellar-worthy.

Made only in outstanding vintages, the Riserva is a more intense, expressive and concentrated version of the Classico. The grapes were sorted for ripeness and aged an extra year in neutral oak. There is a beautiful dark, smoky quality to the Riserva which evokes autumn in Tuscany.
