Castello di Bossi C. Berardenga Chianti Classico 2011

Winemaker's Notes:

With simple and clean lines, the 2011 Chianti Classico is redolent of bright cherry, blackberry and dried cassis. There's a ripe element to the bouquet that comes thanks to the vintage heat and the thicker soils of the Castelnuovo Berardenga growing area in the southern part of the Chianti Classico appellation. The finish is soft and luscious with a slightly chewy quality to the tannins. - Wine Advocate

Dark red cherries, worn in leather, smoke, tobacco and cedar flesh out in Castello di Bossi’s 2011 Chianti Classico. There is no escaping the effects of the heat in this southern part of the appellation. Sadly, the flavors are forward and roasted. The 2011 is best enjoyed sooner rather than later.
