Food Pairings for Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Vigneto Bellavista
Earthy, dusty red fruit aromas lead into a juicy win. Full of ripe red fruits, earth with light oak, this fairly acidic wine finishes with a great bunch of fruit, and has good balance along the whole length of the wine.
Iron and iodine on the nose. Smooth on entry, but the smokey flavors build quickly. Well balanced with good minerality. A sharpness and some delicate hay flavors. Very nice. Good structure and drying tannins.
Spicy, fruity and herbaceous aromas. Flavor is quite juicy, full of luscious strawberry and cherry fruit, spice earth and leather. The acidity gives it a spicy freshness, even after twelve years.
Marmite and pine needles on the nose. Extremely rich, thick and concentrated. A real meaty flavor - roast beef and mint jelly. Dark fruits - prunes and figs on the finish.
External Reviews for Castello di Ama Chianti Classico Vigneto Bellavista
A linear style, this elegant wine boasts cherry, strawberry, tobacco and spice aromas and flavors. Gains richness in the mouth, supported by stern tannins, yet this is balanced and very long. Be patient. Best from 2014 through 2025.
The 2007 Chianti Classico Vigneto Bellavista is a knock out. Rose petals, flowers, all sorts of red berries and mint are some of the nuances that emerge from the 2007. Striking inner perfume, ripe tannins and phenomenal overall balance are the calling cards. Today the 2007 comes across as a modern-day version of the 1990 or, to use a more contemporary comparison, the 2004, but with more weight and also greater sweetness in the tannin. Either way, it is flat-out stunning and a must-have. Anticipated maturity: 2017–2037.
"The 2007 Chianti Classico Castello di Ama is fabulous. There is so much going on in the glass, as endless layers of perfumed dark red fruit caress the palate in stunning style. The wine’s precision, elegance and overall sense of harmony are all first class. Smoke, tar and roses add the final layers of complexity on the finish. Today the wine is mostly remarkable for its exceptional silkiness; readers will have to wait at least a few years for the aromatics and flavors to develop tertiary nuances. The Castello is a wine that sets a new standard for what is possible within the Chianti Classico appellation....96" WA 10/10
