Smoked pork belly with sour cherry and cranberry on the nose. Slight hints of incense, coal and pencil shavings. The palate is gamy and rich. Reminiscent of bone marrow. Dark berry fruit over animal fat. It's very savory. It's so salty and savory it rather lacks a balance of fruit. Perhaps it needs more time to integrate.

Excellent wine. Full, rich plum and sour cherry flavors and aromas give way to a palate that is rich and velvety but not heavy, nor is it woody or stiff. Supple, smooth--everything you are looking for in a Chianti and never find--especially not under $20.

Pours a light crimson color with light pink hues on the edges. Simple nose with some light red cherries and raspberries. Starts off with a mild amount of fruit and lasts throughout. Not overly complex. This wine seems to have a lot of acidity but not much else. Not a wine to drink alone as it needs food to take away from the acidity. We served this with some pasta and red gravy. This is an affordable easy drinker.

A solid, typical Chianti, with cherry, leather and tobacco flavors. Largely supple, yet finishes with a tart, herbal edge. A blend of 95% Sangiovese and 5% Canaiolo.

This is what Chianti should taste like, with plenty of dark cherry and floral aromas and flavors that say Sangiovese. Fresh and fruity. Drink now.

Produced in the heart of the Chianti region at an estate nestled in the Tuscan hills, this wine is a blend of Sangiovese and Canaiolo grapes. Enjoy the delicious, full-bodied wine with roasts, pasta and cheese.

A pretty, floral, medium to light-bodied Chianti Classico, showing strawberry and spice with soft and pliant tannins and an appropriate touch of acidity.

The charming, light-bodied, fruity, soft 1996 Chianti Classico will be a crowd-pleaser. Supple, with a medium ruby color, good cherry fruit, and an easy-going finish, it will drink well for 1-2 years.
