I am a Chianti lover and this wine has a full bodied taste without being overbearing. Goes with every dish I have had with it thus far. Especially beefs and chicken. Pasta to me is a great pairing

I bought it a few weeks ago for a friends visit. She and I sat down to an Italian dinner that I made tonight. I opened the bottle at the start of cooking then decanted it before I served. The wine was smelled of flowers and went wonderfully with the meal. A must have!!!

The Banfi Chianti Classico is predominantly Sangiovese with small amounts of Canaiolo Nero and Cabernet Sauvignon. Medium dark ruby in color, it offers fresh dark fruit aromas of boysenberry and blackberry and a palate of flavorful ripe fruit. It also exhibits excellent balance and structure and a persistent finish. A lovely wine offered at a great price. 89 Points.

An international style emphasizing smoothness and quality over local character, this is warm with dark chocolate flavors, ready to enjoy with roast beef. A great buy.

Winemaker's Notes:

This Chianti has an alluring bouquet of black fruit and violets; rich flavors of cherry and leather; supple tannins and good acidity for dining. Fermentation takes place with a traditional skin contact of 8 to 10 days, then it is aged in French oak barriques for 7 months. Bottling is carried out in the summer following the harvest. This is the perfect accompaniment to a wide variety of foods, including red-sauced pastas, grilled meats, and roasts.
