Really nice and smooth. Had rounded out significantly. Prefer stronger, more forward Brunello, still great to drink. $52 VW
Super Brunello that you will remember for years
My first Brunello - although not as big as I had expected, perhaps due to holding time, the tannins were nice and round, more medium bodied than full. Beautiful ruby color, loam and mineral on front palate, nice dark fruit on mid-palate and satisfying finish. Delicious paired with Bizteca Florentine and crisped potatoes.

Wonderful aromas of blackberries, raspberries and flowers. Full-bodied, with well-integrated tannins and a long, long finish. A very fine wine. Always a winner. Drink now through 2008.
Dark ruby red. Aromas of blackberry, dried flowers and cherry. Very intense and concentrated nose. Full-bodied, with velvety tannins and a long flavorful finish. Lots of light vanilla and crushed dark fruits on the finish. Solid now, but better with age. Best after 2010.
Rock solid and compact. This wine is true-blue Brunello, meant to be cellared for 10 or more years. Flavors of plum, cherry and currant are pure, and therersquo;s far more fruit here than wood. But the tannins are like nails and they get harder and harder with each sip. Yes, itrsquo;s top-flight Brunello, but hold, for best results, until 2010.
Intense aromas of smoke and coffee open to layers of beautiful, pure fruit. Full-bodied, with supersilky tannins. Absolutely gorgeous. Just like the 1997. I love it. Drink now through 2015.
Blackberry and blueberry aromas are focused and ultraclean. Full-bodied, with a deep core of pretty fruit and polished tannins that go on and on. Closed and tight right now, but will open into something very special indeed. Best after 2011.
