Castellare I Sodi di San Niccolo Vino da Tavola Proprietary Blend Wine 2007

External Review by JJ Buckley Fine Wines:

Power and grace is summed up in the 2007 I Sodi di San Niccolo - Mostly Sangioveto (Clone of Sangiovese) with Malvasia Nera. Inky and saturated black and blue hue indicates a full bodied Super Tuscan. Power and grace is summed up in the 2007 I Sodi di San Niccolo...Traditional notes of garrigue morello cherry and black truffle create a heady bouquet. Quite mouth-coating...with plenty of glycerol fruit and wood tannins throughout. After a few years of bottle age this is displaying a dried fruit spectrum of black cherry and black plum with hints of licorice and olive. Another layer of roasted coffee and caramel picks up on the back end with fine grained tannins reminiscent of a gently-aged left bank Bordeaux. The finish is full and expansive going on for minutes. A baby but with the structure to age another 4 to 7 years. I highly suggest decanting for 90 minutes if consuming for the immediateThis wine only gets better with ample aeration. Neil Mechanic.
