A classic Trefethen Chard which highlights tropical and floral aromas with a hint of almond. This Chardonnay has a soft mouthfeel balanced with acidity and a stony minerality which makes it a very food-friendly wine. Flavors of apple pie and citrus, especially that of lemon zest, fill the palate. Food Affinities: Delightful with winter vegetable soups, seafood, Cioppino, chicken with tarragon, pastas with Shitake mushrooms, pasta primavera or salads with apples, walnuts and goat cheese. 13% malolactic fermentation.

Far superior is their flagship offering for Bordeaux varietal blends, the 2010 Cabernet Sauvignon Cinq Cepages, which is 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 12% Merlot, 5% Cabernet Franc and the rest Petit Verdot. It possesses a deep ruby/purple color along with notes of cranberry sauce, black cherries, black currants, dusty, loamy soil, unsmoked cigar tobacco and underbrush. Medium to full-bodied and rich with light tannins as well as a textured mouthfeel, there are 7,000 cases of this beauty that can be enjoyed over the next 10–12 years.
This is a big, full-bodied wine. It's massive in blackberries, plums and currants, with some dried herb notes along with lots of sweet oak. The tannins are very strong, and the finish is astringent. It's clearly well-grown, but tough. Age it for up to five years, but it doesn't have the richness for the long haul. - S.H.
The 2010 Cinq Cépages is a stunning color in the glass, deep ruby with a subtle violet colored rim. Layered aromas are vivid; black plum, blackberry compote, clove spice, tanned leather and a hint of fresh tobacco leaf. Secondary aromas of raspberry and spiced cherry mingle with notes of violet and pomegranate. The aromas lead to an incredibly juicy palate with flavors of blueberry, cherry and blackberry. Nuanced flavors of espresso and a distinct mocha component add to the complexity. The full-bodied wine has smooth, silky tannins that offer solid structure but do not overwhelm. The wine is plush and approachable yet complex and appealing in the glass. In signature Cinq Cépages form, this wine combines the strength of the diverse Sonoma County region to create a well-balanced, complex and powerful wine.
This has stunning black tea warm ganache and roasted alder aromas giving way to a very lush yet defined core of braised fig blackberry cobbler and pastis-soaked plum fruit. The long dark finish is muscular but polished and caressing. Best from 2014 through 2022. 450 cases made. JM Wine Spectator.
Dark as night the opaque purple hue lures you into a nose of dark berry cured meat roasted herbs and graphite. Serious nose for a value-driven wine! Textbook Rhone-esque mouthfeel with a waft of mint and eucalyptus. Plenty of stuffing here - with layer upon layer of blackberry spicy cassis and cracked black pepper. On the back end there s a kiss of toasty oak infused with thyme and black olives. Bring on the grilled steak! Great QPR - this is the perfect red for entertaining. Neil Mechanic.
