100% Nebbiolo. Blended from four vineyards in the municipalities of Barolo, Novello and La Morra, this wine straddles the line between the old and new styles of Barolo. Steve Bloom of Tesori Wines explained, “This is due to the wine being aged in new French oak casks, representing a kind of tightrope walk between the traditional Slovenian oak and modern small, new French barrique approaches. In this way, the winemaker is able to achieve some greater accessibility of the fruit and the possibility to enjoy the wine somewhat younger than a traditionally made Barolo.” The result is a lucious, supple wine, with superb balance. Familiar aromatics of roses, violets and tar lead into dark fruit and forest floor flavors. The obvious food pairings are rich, creamy risotti, pasta with truffles, well-marbled, charred red meat and braised meats.
