Right from the get-go, this wine is bursting with loads of kirsch liqueur and bright fresh raspberries. It's like you've just taken a big bite of a cherry pie that has been decorated and topped with numerous red berries. Delicately intermingled are hints of white pepper with a slight herbaceous edge, giving this succulent wine a splendid, rounded mouth. With a long-lasting finish, this up-front, fruit-forward grenache is a wonderful treat for all wine connoisseurs.

This is a Rhone style blend (Grenache, Syrah and Mourvedre) from McLaren Vale in Australia. Matured in wood for 12 months, it is a lush, juicy wine to be enjoyed with grilled lamb chops, chili or anything barbecued.

This Grenache, though lighter in color, has superb structure and a great finish. It easily carries notes of cherry, clove, tobacco, earth and spice in perfect balance.

Smooth and plush in texture, a characterful wine with mint and lime notes weaving through the dark, ripe cherry and tobacco flavors. Grenache, Shiraz and Monastrell (Mourvèdre). Drink now through 2005.

Cascabel's 2000 Grenache possesses a medium dark ruby color in addition to a knock-out nose of kirsch liqueur and pepper, a sweet, expansive, succulent palate, gobs of fruit, excellent density, and a long finish. This supple, in-your-face Grenache should be consumed over the next 6-7 years.

Made in a European-oriented winemaking style (the winemaker/proprietor is Spanish), the 2001 Grenache et al comes across as a serious initiation of a French Cocirc;tes du Rhocirc;ne. Notes of white pepper, kirsch liqueur, and pine/resiny notes emerge from this deep ruby-colored effort. With loads of fruit and spice, a medium-bodied texture, and a long, persistent, supple finish, it will drink well for 3ndash;4 years. Impressive!

Ripened to a velvety softness, the fruit of this wine remains completely red, and it lasts. Flavors of red currants and spicy red berries feel firm, clean and lively, a simple pleasure with most anything off the grill.
