Editorial Reviews for Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Syrah
Spicy and herbal at first the nose opens to reveal wonderful notes of soil and dried herbs framing the ripe, dark berry fruit. Restrained in the mouth yet fully ripe with nicely captured fruit that offers compelling depth but a lively natural feel that does not obscure the cool, composed, complex character of the wine. A lovely wine for consumption over the next several years. 2009-2014

Dark, but pure and focused, with espresso-tinged tannins carrying the dark plum, briar, fig cake and bittersweet cocoa notes. Long, muscular finish is fine-grained and should cellar nicely. Drink now through 2010.
The 2005 Syrah Los Kuras Vineyard "Cuvee Alexandre" is a saturated purple color with alluring scents of meat, game, bacon, and blueberry. Layered, ripe, and full-flavored on the palate, this lengthy wine will reveal greater complexity with another 2-... Robert Parker. A Syrah wine from Rapel Valley in Chile. 2005 Casa Lapostolle Syrah Cuvee Alexandre 750ml
If a blast of thick but classy oak doesn’t bother you, then this single-vineyard wine comes highly recommended. It gets better with every minute of air, and along the way you get aromas of charcoal, mint, licorice and berries, which are followed by flavors of blackberry, prune cake and molasses. This modern, ripe, eminently drinkable Syrah weighs in at 14.5% alcohol.
