Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Syrah 2002
Winemaker's Notes:
Vinification: • Must was fermented 10 days between 28-30°C (82-86°F), followed by a 12-15 days post fermentation maceration. • 85% of the wine was aged for 11 months in 2-3 year old barrels and 15% for 13 months in new oak and one year barrels . Tasting Notes: Intense red ruby color. Complex and aromatic bouquet of ripe, jammy red fruits of cassis, plum and cherries intermixed with discreet oaky notes. An expressive and accessible medium bodied wine with supple and round tannins, making it enjoyable right now. Can also be cellared for a few years.

Lapostolle was founded by the legendary family behind Grand Marnier. Alexandra Marnier-Lapostolle brought French winemaking practices to Chile, where she was a pioneer in leading the development of fine quality wines. The winery uses organic and biodynamic practices, and the wines are consistently rated 90+ points. Most recently, Wine Enthusiast named Lapostolle “New World Winery of the Year” in 2008.
