85% Merlot - 15% Carmenere.
Vintage:
Winter 2002 was cold and rainy. Spring came with
continued cool temperatures, low sunlight and scarce
brightness, resulting in a rather late budding and
shooting, and a natural lowering of yields for the
Merlot.
Summer was dry and very hot, especially in January.
The last week of March and first two weeks of April
were exceptionally warm and sunny, enabling a
complete and optimal ripening process and allowing to
harvest at just the right moment.

- Deep, dense red ruby color. Complex and attractive nose of blackberries and cherries. Notes of black chocolate, black pepper and toast.This wine has a full palate with explosive richness, fleshy cassis and black cherry fruit, and nicely, integrated oak. Smooth tannins give this vintage of Cuvee Alexandre Merlot a solid and well-structured frame, finishing with character.
