Editorial Reviews for Casa Lapostolle Cuvee Alexandre Chardonnay Chardonnay Atalayas Vineyard Chile
More redux, light grassy top note, little sweet toasty spice, plummy, spicy with a hint of sweet spices and a suggestion of pepper. Soft on the palate and loose, aromatic in the mouth. Nice violet, mulberry fruit. Perfumed up front then not a huge finish, juicy on the back end. 85pts

With dark-berry aromas and pointed toughness, this is a solid wine with creamy oak, some stickiness and a lactic element. Flavors of herbal dark fruits and minty oak lead to a dry, minty, hot and spicy finish with more than enough residual oak flavor.
This lovely chardonnay has a complex nose consisting of honeycomb, tropical fruit, gardenia, spice, orange, and caramel. On the palate, these aromas are confirmed with a pleasing acidity, and a long finish.
92 points and a "Smart Buy," Wine Spectator: "Quite toasty, with cocoa powder and espresso notes up front, followed by muscular macerated currant and fig fruit flavors mingling with a maduro tobacco hint. The long, fleshy finish has a nice graphite edge lurking underneath. Needs to settle in, but should age nicely. Drink now through 2010. 800 cases made." (06/09)
Lapostolle is the property of the French family Marnier Lapostolle and was founded in 1994 by Alexandra Marnier Lapostolle along with her husband Cyril de Bournet. Today Lapostolle owns 380 hectares of vineyards.
The 2010 Cuvee Alexandre was #68 on the Wine Spectator's Top 100 of 2012. The winery is 100% gravity-fed spanning six levels. This rare vertical design allows the wine to flow naturally downward during every stage of the production, avoiding the need to pump, which can adversely affect the subtle flavours of the wine.
A perennial Best Buy Cab. The nose is smoky and rock-solid, with clean berry fruit and muscle. The palate is lively and secure, with balance, firm tannins, proper acidity and a tasty mix of cocoa, herbs and berry fruit. Finishes on the spot.
