smooth and filled with berries at first and then a kick of spices and cloves with a meaty tannic finish, has amazing potential to age longer

Dark fruit aromas, blackberry, black cherry, black currants with a touch of spice. On the palate heavy dark fruit, full textured body, some leather and cedar notes, tannic structure well, a little meaty, loads of darkness, hot cocoa, some heat, would be amazing with steak night.

bottle says it can age for 10 years... thats questionable to say the least. This wine isnt bad, dirty nose, bark, stone, plummy. For the $ its a solid pick.

I can't quite remember exactly how this bottle tasted (no, I didn't black out from getting shit-faced) as it was awhile ago and I never reviewed it sooner. Other than the label, the wine doesn't stick out in my memory too much; therefore, I know it was a good bottle of wine but not the best...this review isn't helpful at all.

Autumn berries fruits with hints of cinnamon with young and intense bright purple red. Very clean and intense aromas with delightfully fresh red fruit and black pepper dominating the nose. Well structured and juicy tannins that evolve towards a fresh and mouth-watering natural acidity in the mid palate. The finish is long and shows a light touch of oak. Just fantastic with pasta cannelloni bolognese, and light red meats. Great for garden and entertainment.

Good solid Cab. Tight structure, nicely balanced - not too tannic. Cherry/berry fruit with hints of coffee bean/cocoa. Nice clean finish. Let it breath a for a bit. A steal at under 10 bucks.

Lovely elegance here, with the toast and hazelnut notes playing second fiddle to the fig, pear and quince fruit. Stylish, juicy finish shows fine length. Drink now through 2003.

External Review

Subtle at first, with toast and candied-pear notes, this slowly yields layers of apple, fig, honeysuckle and minerals, all carried by a long, juicy finish. This really opens up in the glass but stays remarkably elegant. Drink now.

Light to medium-bodied and silky textured, the 2003 Chardonnay Cuvee Alexandre Atalayas Vineyard offers aromas of spiced pear and vanilla. Fresh apple, pear and oak notes are found in its expressive, well-crafted core. Drink it over the next year.

External Review

This has solid concentration to the pear, fig and spice notes, with restrained toast carrying the lengthy finish. Has the fruit to win over most folks, and the nuance to hold them. Drink now through 2003.

External Review

Focused and elegant, with deceptive length and power, this lets lush apple, pear, fig and toast notes stretch along languidly, yet never becomes tiring to drink. Well done. Drink now through 2006.

"Casa Lapostolle Clos Apalta 2007 is deep purple red color. The nose has intense and complex

External Review

In a bold, toasty style, with notes of nutmeg, pie crust and pear tartine, but has the acidity to pull it off. Good job.
