This one is powerful. Very dark, very intense. It's an infanticide to drink it now. Let it mature for sure. Still hard on the tannins. Plenty of potencial ahead. [94]

Number 2 on Wine Spectator Top 100 Wines of 2004! Deep and intense black purple color. Explosive nose of red fruits, blackberries, black cherry and raspberry, mixed with complex notes of toasted vanilla, cedar, black chocolate and coffee. In mouth, the wine is only density, volume, concentration and fullness. The present and round tannins give the wine a solid and well-structured character. The finish is long, velvety and silky.

This is truly thrilling, full-throttle stuff with much more bottom and substance and potential than the 2000. Lively, broad and explosively seductive but with a really great savoury streak running through it. This should continue to evolve for a good eight to 10 years.

Super ripe berries and plums, smoky, earthy, tremendous flavours. Drink 7-10 years.
