Appellation:
Casablanca Valley.
Grape Variety :
100% Chardonnay coming from our
Casablanca estate.
Harvest :
Hand-harvested from April 4th to April 18th
2001, in small baskets of 15 kgs.
After the usual rainy winter, the whole vegetative
season was marked by dry and warm climatic
conditions, especially in January and
February. End of March and April were rather
cool, which slowed down the ripening process
and enhanced the flavours in the berries.
In 2001, we strictly managed our vineyards
through the read more...whole growing season to reach a
very low yield of 3’120 kg/ha, i.e. 1’300
tones/acre or 17hl/ha. Under these perfect
conditions, we produced very healthy, concentrated
and fruity grapes, with great freshness.
Vinification :
• 86% of the must was pressed immediately,
while 14% had between 6 to 8 hours of skin
contact before pressing.
• 80% of the must was barrel fermented and
aged for 12 months in French barrels. For this
we used new oak (57%) and 1 year old oak
barrels (43%), with lees stirring twice a
month.
• 20% went through fermentation in vats.
• Temperature of fermentation was between
16-23°C in the barrels and 15-16°C in vats.
• 50% of the wine underwent malolactic
fermentation.
• Bottled in May 2002.
Tasting Notes:
Attractive, brilliant golden-yellow color.
Complex, elegant and pure nose, with tropical
fruits, pineapple and citrus notes, very nice
toasty and honey notes coming from fine and
well integrated French oak.
A dense, creamy and nicely structured wine on
the palate, with very well balanced natural
acidity.
A Casablanca wine of great charm and
personality.

- Smoky, toasty oak, buttery. Mid-weight, elegant. Well-balanced. Lots of oak but fine fruits and good length. Drink now.

June 2007
- Attractive, brilliant golden-yellow color. Very complex, elegant and clean nose, with tropical fruits, pineapple and asparagus nuances, well married with honey and toasty notes coming from a fine and well integrated wood. Dense, rich and creamy in the mouth, with a well balanced acidity that makes it alive and fresh, with a very pleasant and persisting finish. A Casablanca wine of great personality, involving and filling.
